The dream to see the world at 7knts has finally come to fruition. The 55' stout Bruce Roberts (fiberglass) cutter is our ship, and after a 2-yr full refit in San Diego, she is equipped and ready for some serious cruising (air conditioning, water-makers, stand up showers... super comfy, and safe). We're looking to spend March thru end of October in the Sea of Cortez free diving/diving, spearfishing, hiking, and exploring the endless islands and villages. When weather permits, our intentions* are to make our way down the coast towards Ecuador, Galapagos, and South Pacific. (*we're open to making the puddle jump across the Pacific right away, too; this subject will be open for discussion). However, we don't think 1 season in the South Pacific will be enough, just say'n. We are brothers. Oldest and youngest of 3 siblings. We are single males with no strings. Mike/Captain spent the past 20+ years wearing a tie and building a career in San Francisco. Chris/Chief Mate spent the past 15+ years in San Diego doing similar. Our previous lives didn't bring much life fulfillment, and with adventurous hearts, we were driven to explore. We were able to save enough to cover the boat and all the costs, so there's no expectation for out of pocket costs (from crew) when it comes to provisioning, fixing, etc the boat. We love to cook and love to try all foods (no allergies that we know of, and definitely not very picky)... although, we're health conscience, and try to have a healthy mix of exercise and diet; we enjoy a drink every once in a while, but intolerant to drunken liabilities; and it's important to note that we really don't like the smell of cigarette smoke (and obviously don't smoke). On the note of romance, we're first and foremost interested in competent crew and a positive experience... however, we do hope to meet partners with similar interests, life goals, etc during this trip. | |
