I’m 76. Been sailing since I was 18. I’ve sailed the Great Lakes, Eastern seaboard and the Caribbean for work and pleasure. I’ve accumulated approximately 10,000 ocean miles delivering boats as far East as Bermuda, as far South as Grenada and West to Curacao.I’ve accomplished all my sailing goals, but one - an East to West Atlantic crossing. Though a crossing is my ultimate goal, any longer passage would be considered. I can cook, clean, stand watch, steer a course and do most things that need to be done on a boat. What I can’t do any longer is lift a lot of weight, ie hauling a big CQR or hoisting a huge mainsail. Other than that, I’m good to go. I’m easy-going, quiet, introspective and enjoy deep conversations. I’m a grandfather and retired teacher, so if there’s any families out there, I’m your guy. I would welcome the opportunity to be considered for crew and would be willing to pay my fair share of boat expenses. | |
