| I am a retired airline Captain who bought my Seawind 1160 Lite in 2016. She was in charter in San Diego for 4 years during which time I explored the Southern California Coast and Catalina on off days. After retiring we spent 2 seasons in the Sea of Cortez and a bit of mainland Mexico. In Oct. of 2022 I sailed with 2 others to French Polynesia, Cooks, American Samoa, Tonga and to Fiji. My sailing partner found the cruising life not for him and left. I spent a couple of months buddy boating with 2 other boats around Fiji. I then put Flite Deck on the hard for cyclone season and crewed with one of my buddy boat captains to Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Australia. My boat is currently on the hard in Fiji and I plan to go back in March to start sailing again. I am looking for a new sailing buddy. My needs are pretty specific, and if you are in this category I welcome your response. I would like someone who has ocean sailing experience on a catamaran, who is also good with the maintenance issues that come up on boats. There are things I'm not strong or experienced enough to do and I would welcome someone who has those abilities. The plan is to sail to Australia via Vanuatu and New Caledonia. It should be about a month long trip. I may buddy boat with friends northward towards Indonesia and beyond, or put her in storage in Australia and crew with them again. It all depends on finding the right person to cruise with. If you have the time to go sail, and the experience, please contact me, I'd like to get to know you. My insurance requires a sailing resume from 'anyone who touches a helm', so if you think you may be interested, please keep that in mind. Two extra people would be ideal, but I am open to one.
