Hi, I'm John from Pembrokeshire West Wales. I've been a professional Mariner since leaving school with activities from fishing commercialy/RYA Sailing Instructor/Flotilla Skipper/Skipper for the Ministry of Defence/100 foot Caribbean Schooner Captain and more recently owning my own offshore sailboat since 2008. I have crossed the Atlantic seven times (twice solo) and have over 200,000 miles logged. I'm a fairly fit recently retired divorcee, a non smoker and enjoy a Sundowner (or two!). My favourite activities (apart from sailing) are beachcombing and snorkeling (I also have Scuba o/b). I am looking for crew/company for the remainder of my two year circumnavigation adventure (or any part of). Not looking to be a form of transport and this is not a delivery. Its all about the experience. I am seeking someone of any age of reasonable health, male or female who wants to adventure in remote places and doesn't expect it for free. I do not NEED help to sail the yacht, but would love to share the adventure with a like-minded individual. You will be expected to take part in all aspects of living on a sailboat, including cleaning, cooking and sailing therefore this is not a charter. I will not be waiting on you. It will be on a shared cost basis and then a small additional daily charge (10$ per day) towards some laundry, drinking water and sundries mainly commensurate with maintaining the yacht but also for consumables such as domestic washing materials, Bin liners, Kitchen roll, Kitchen foil etc etc etc (you get the idea) plus Cooking gas and laundry materials. Most legs are now only a few days long but a couple are a little more or less. They are usually planned to be able to see a number of places and be able to enjoy them. You can be taught the basics of sailing and navigation, so no previous sailing knowledge is required (but would be a bonus!). Just an adventurous spirit and a desire to take part in investigating new surroundings/meeting like minded others. The boat is a well outfitted 42 foot A Class Ocean vessel (Bavaria 42 Sloop) with 750watt solar/Wind Generator full safety equipment (ie recently serviced Offshore Liferaft /EPIRB, Life jackets, Flares, extensive Offshore First Aid kit etc etc), she also had all new Rigging just before I left. Also satellite coms (Starlink). Motorized Dinghy, Generator, SSB Radio, Autopilot, etc etc. You will have your own double berth, there is of course a hot&cold Shower Inside and outside, Electric toilet etc. New Stove, new Fridge Freezer etc etc I started my circumnavigation in September 2022 in Wales UK then to the Canary Islands via Madeira, across the Atlantic to Barbados, North through the islands of the Eastern Caribbean to Saint Martin, West to San Blas and Panama (Transit Mid February 2023) Galapagos, Marquesas, Tuamotos to my current location of Papéete,Tahiti. I am currently looking for someone to join me on one or more of any of the legs but in particular from Tahiti West to Moorea, Bora Bora, Palmerston, Beveridge Reef, Niue, Vava'u, Lifuka, Tonga and Fiji (by September). Beyond that it will be New Caledonia etc PNG, Indonesia (too much to mention) Singapore, Thailand, North Indian Ocean (Maldives / Sri Lanka /Oman /Red Sea... Mediterranean. If this sounds of interest drop me a Private Message. I will not accept friends requests without a PM. My requirements:- No special dietary requirements – flexible meat/fish eater, no diets (gluten free, keto, low carb) etc Age range: 20 to “reasonably mobile and not likely to keel over on a leg” No issues with obtaining any necessary visas which is your responsibility to check! I look forward to hearing from you! :-) all the Best, John.
