Atlantic crossing December 2024............... I am 69-year-old man from Sweden that are looking for the possibility to cross the Atlantic again, it will be the ninth crossing for me. My whole life I have worked with team and teambuilding, and I have been told that I have a very easy way and fits in different teams without any problems. The crossing can be as skippermate or as crewmember there is no special demands.
I really enjoiy learning from others and at the same time ad my experiences to find the best solution or the best way to do things. As a former sport teacher that has been one of my most favorit things to do in life.
I have in the last 45 years worked in the yachting industry as skipper and responsible for yacht projects. Most of the time I have owned my own yachts and run different kinds of business onboard:
In 1985, Scuba diving school onboard my own yacht in the Red Sea, 45 foot aluminum yacht
1988 to 1994 Transatlantic sailing school from Sweden to Caribbean every year, onboard my own Swan 65
2000 still doing it, high class charter in the Baltic and up to northern part of Norway, onboard my own Swan 651
During these years the trips includes Iceland, around the Caribbean, Atlantic, Mediterranean and much more.
I have built three yachts from scratch and renovating others continuously; I do all the maintenance myself off course with more hands now and then.
Now I am working as a volunteer in the Swedish Rescue Organization as boat driver and crew. I am also going on missions with Doctors Without Borders regularly driving big Rib in the Mediterranean rescuing refugees in distress.
My best sailing experience is when I have a group of people onboard and to see them grow onboard, to see them find their position and how they’re learning curve is steep. It can be on a nice running wind on the Atlantic, a rough sailing in the northern Atlantic or in the Archipelago outside Stockholm nevertheless it’s a fantastic feeling! |
