Hello Captains! My name is Jack, I am a New Orleans based sailor interested in crewing on a transatlantic crossing (specifically ARC Europe spring 2024). I have 7 years sailing experience, mostly in the Gulf South of the U.S.. In regards to my sailing experience, I compete weekly in local and regional regattas but my true passion is long distance blue water sailing. Whenever possible, I do yacht deliveries and have completed 2 trans-Gulf passages within the last year. In addition to my sailing experience, I served as a 9-1-1 EMT for 10 years, including with New Orleans EMS, so I am no stranger to high-stress and challenging environments. In my spare time, when I am not sailing I am cooking, attending concerts, and traveling with my wife. Overall, I am a competent, personable, and easy-going individual who would love to join your transatlantic crew! Onboard competencies: - Helming - Navigating by GPS - Keeping watch - Trimming sails - Cooking - Cleaning - Assisting with docking/ mooring - First aid | |
