My name is Astrid Williams. I grew up in the Alaskan wilderness in the winter and on an old wooden boat in the summer... where my love of sailing began. To further my career, I have since moved to Europe. I am looking for a birth on an east to west Atlantic passage in 2024. It will be my first... but I have been under the tutelage of my dear Captain Hans Hansell with whom I have had the privilege to sail. We have sailed the along Portigual Sapin France, crossed the English Channel, up through beautiful Ireland and Scotland, into the Hebrides, Norway, Denmark and finally to Sweden. From Sweden in the following years... we cruised the Baltic Sea extensively. During these years of crewing... I developed a deep respect for how much work cruising really is. I have learned how to take care of the boat and her crew. Spending time behind the wheel, beating to windward, navigating the hazordous Swedish archipelago or pouring over surface pressure charts and taking care of the yacht and her crew have all helped me mature as a sailor and ready for an Atlantic Crossing. I look forward to getting in contact with any Captain intrested. Happy Sailing! | |
