READY TO RACE NOW HERE IN LAS PALMAS. WILLING TO PAY up to 2000 euros and expences. LATEST SAILING EXPERIENCE LAST WEEK: DUBLE HANDED GIBRALTAR - Las Palmas 700 nm. About me: I am a young middle age sailor from Finland. I love sailing and sun rises at sea. I have sailed all my life. I am available from the 15th of November 2019 till 9th of January 2020. I am especially interested in to join ARC2019, also other blue water sailing. For more information Please contact me as soon as possible by reply with this OceanCrewLink or e-mail [email protected]. ABOUT ME: I am married and have two kids; 1 and 6 years of age. I have studied in Helsinki university. I work for Helsinki district Court and I am also a dance teacher. I am reserve officer. I have done all kinds of sports. For example triathlon, orienteering, sking, free diving and hiking in wilderness. I am open minded and little bit playfull. I love to meet new people. MY SAILING HISTORY: My latest sailing in Finland was 1.11.2019 over night! We sailed a 51 ft Swan s/y Belmont from Helsinki to Hanko. About 80 miles, head wind 20-30 knots, bitch black and + 2 Celsius!! No snow rain ;) Something warmer next time.. I have sailed since 1969 over 20 years with my parents and sisters on keel boats from 28 to 42 ft on Baltic sea. We sailed all our holidays and weekends on summer time. We sailed and lived in a sailing boat about 5 - 6 weeks every year. I don’t get sea sick and have a good sea leg. I have done thousands of moorings on sails or with the help of engine. At the age of 5 my first boat was Optimist. At age of 15 I started racing Europe class dinghy. I raced 5 years in Europe class in Finland. Last 25 years I have co-owned and raced different kind of keel boats in Baltic. We started with my sailing buddies with H-boat (28 ft), after that we have owned or raced together J/80, H-35, Moody 35, X-99, Jeanneau SO 45DS, Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 42, Finn Flyer 37, etc. We bought X-99 from Holland in 2008 and sailed it to Finland. We raced with it 7 years in Baltic. I have been a Captain or First mate in about 20 Offshore races in Baltic last 15 years. I have raced last 20 years over 250 starts on track, club races and coastal races. We have many wins and podiums – and not so good results ;) I am specialized in steering and main sail trim. Strategy, tactics and weather maps are my strong areas. I can handle any role in sail racing. I have dream to sail across Atlantic Ocean. I would love to sail all the way without the help of engine. Racing category would suit me very well. Staying in doldrums for many days once in a life would be ultimate experience. On the other hand, If I am not competing - I do not have a hurry when sailing. Easy going cruising with nice people is good. I just feel free and happy when sailing. | |
