Velvet Adventure Sailing wants 3 crew for Velvet Lady, Oyster 55, 17m.

From Plymouth, United Kingdom to Oban, United Kingdom.

May 2018 to May 2018.

Just finished a winter RYA theory course and wondering what to do next. This is the perfect opportunity to put the theory into practice and see how to navigate safely on coastal and offshore passages. On this milebuilding trip from Plymouth to Oban you will be able to learn from us about course shaping and plotting, tides (including secondary port calculations), passage planning and passage making, how to interpret weather forecasts and real time application of collision regulations. Our milebuilding trips are all about enjoying sailing and the beauty of being at sea without the pressure of being on a course. We are not working to a syllabus, but planning the tides and deciding the course based on the conditions around us. This trip is a great step up for Day Skippers and Flotilla sailors and a perfect opportunity for the more experienced sailor to develop the skills required for the RYA Yachtmaster Coastal or Offshore exam. You will gain miles for your log book and experience taking part in a watch system. There will be lots of night sailing and 2 passages of over 60 miles. To give us plenty of time to complete the 500 miles and have a chance to explore ashore in Ireland and the Hebrides this is a 9 night holiday taking advantage of 2 weekends. Join in Plymouth at 1800 on Saturday 12th May and depart in Oban at 1000 on Monday 21st May giving you all day to travel home. Trip Cost £990 More details:https://www.velvetadventuresailing.com/adventure-sailing-holidays-2018/explore-ireland-and-the-hebrides-milebuilding-plymouth-to-oban Contact Us: [email protected]
