[ Archived ] BVI to New York and Maine Virgin Islands - British to United States ref 8183

Alan Spiers wants 4 crew for MDH, Oyster, 17m.

From , Virgin Islands - British to , United States.

May 2017 to June 2017.

We are looking for a couple of people to join us for our trip from BVI to USA (New York and then on up to Maine), leaving the BVI mid May. We anticipate taking approx 3 wks to get to New York, but this would be flexible. The boat is a Classic Sovereign Oyster 55ft, 1995. We left the UK last Oct and sailed across the Atlantic to the Caribbean. Experience of at least one long ocean passage would be good, as you would be expected to take watches independently. Ideally a RYA certificate or equivalent (e.g. Competent crew, Coastal skipper, etc.) would also be good, but not essential. Experience and enthusiasm is a must. We would expect you to take a share in cooking and watch duties and also contribute towards reasonable costs for running the boat during the trip. You would need to pay for all your own travelling expenses to and from the boat and you would need the correct visa to enter America or be a US national.
