Additional detailsThis trip is part of the SY Quetzal's circumnavigation of the world. After sailing the Atlantic Ocean and enjoying the Caribbean for 2 years, we now want to dive into the island paradise of the Pacific. We sail with maximum 5 participants and offer on board the full enjoyment of the sail on a sailing yacht with all comfort. The trip is easy to master for beginners as well as for experienced sailors. The equipment of the Quetzal On deck The middle cockpit of the Quetzal is extremely safe and you feel well taken care of, even when the waves are high. The Quetzal is a so-called Ketch, i.e. it has 2 masts and is therefore very stable in the water. The winches for operating the main sail and the genoa can be operated electrically or manually from the cockpit. Only the smaller mizzen sail has to be operated by hand. The anchor winch is also electric and has a 100 m long chain with a 30 kg anchor that has never let us down before. This winch can also be operated from the cockpit. There is another anchor at the stern of the yacht and one for the dinghy. All instruments are clearly visible and are located in the cockpit. In the stern there is a wind generator and 3 solar cells to generate further electricity, as well as a davit to which the dinghy can be attached. Under the seat on the starboard side there are 2 diving tanks as well as an air compressor for diving. Then we still have two fishing rods to be able to supply us with fresh fish. In the other boxes there are small storm sails, a spare sail and a spinnaker. Inside The Quetzal has 4 cabins and 6 sleeping places. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, fridge, freezer, microwave and sink. And this with a standing height of 2.20 m, so that even tall people can work well in it. There is also a washing machine and a dishwasher. All cabins have air conditioning and hatches for light and ventilation. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator |
