Hi My wife and I are currently taking a 'year out' with our 2 young kids sailing the Med and the Caribbean. We started in June this year in Mallorca and have since around the Balearics, Sardinia and are currently in Corsica. We will now being to make our way to Las Palmas for the ARC which we will do with Chloe (who is 4.5) and Jamie who will be 3 in November when we make the crossing. We currently have a fabulous South African au-pair aboard but her Schengen visa runs out in October and she must return home. So we are looking for someone to join us in the Caribbean from when we arrive in early December. We will spent until the end of April 2016 cruising the Caribbean and then ship Crackerjack back to the Med where we will continue to cruise until August 2016. The role would be very much about helping us look after the kids and ensuring their wellbeing and most importantly their safety as obviously on a boat we can't take eyes off them for a moment. You would also be required to help with keeping the boat clean. Obviously you would be aboard a relatively confined space for quite a while so you need to be comfortable with that and of course you need to be good with kids and genuinely like them. It's also important that you are comfortable with sailing. You don't have to have a huge amount of experience with sailing, but must know that you can tolerate waves/winds etc - as we don't want a person who is sea-sick a lot!!!! We will cover all food and expenses and provide pocket money of €150/week. You would be very much part of our family and would eat with us. But of course personal space is very important so 'time out' for all needs to given. This is a fun, once in a lifetime adventure and we are a fun loving friendly family who would like a likeminded person to join us.
