From Nanny Cay, Tortola, Virgin Islands, British to Southampton, United Kingdom.

May 2015 to July 2015.

This year, 2014, I am doing the ARC from the Canaries arriving in St Lucia late Nov. The boat will then be in the Caribbean until May when I would like to join the ARC Europe 2015 for the return. This goes via Bermuda, the Azores and Portugal. After that the boat will need to be sailed back to Southampton, England. I have been so busy organising the boat and crew for this year's ARC that I have only just now (August) begun to think about the return trip and plans and crew. The boat has been extensively re-fitted this year. She is a good design for Ocean cruising and is very well equipped. She has three double cabins and two heads. Crew roles: I would expect all of the crew to be involved in all aspects of sailing and running the boat - so, cooking, cleaning, navigation, standing watch, any maintenance required, communications & weather, etc. Experience is obviously valuable, but less experience and a quick learning ability is good. Sociability, and a relaxed, agreeable approach are the key. I am married with 2 grown up daughters. My wife sails but doesn't do oceans. I am in my mid 60's, but fit and with a very youthful outlook and an ability to get on with all age groups. I'll be doing a lot of sailing until January but if you indicate that you are interested then I will try to get back to you as soon as I can.
