Jim Scott wants 2 crew for Persistent Lady, Hardin 45, 14m.
From NY harbor, United States to Lagos, Portugal.
April 2014 to June 2014.
The trip is the ARC EUROPE 2014; leaving NY Harbor April 2014 to Hampton VA, then to a layover in Bermuda , then to a layover in the Azores, then to a layover in Lagos, Portugal, with a possibility of continuing to Italy. We are looking for congenial, experienced offshore sailors. Our sailing experience is coastal in the Gulf Coast and 7 years of chartering in the Caribbean for 3 weeks each year. We have sailed from Annapolis to Charleston and Annapolis to NY harbor, from Ft Lauderdale to Bahamas and experienced hurricanes and gales. We have completed the Power Squadron courses through Advanced Piloting. Our experience is dated. We stopped sailing before GPS and have just restarted; buying the Hardin 45 for the ARC Europe 2014 last March. The boat has new standing and running rigging in 2007 as well as new sails in 2007. The boat was not used for 3 years (on the hard with sails stowed below) and we are fine tuning the issues from being on the hard so long. We are planing a trip from NY to Block Island for a week during this summer as a shakedown cruise. Crew would be welcome.
