Windward Sailing wants 8 crew for Incisor, Corby 45, 14m.

From Falmouth Harbour, Antigua & Barbuda to Falmouth Harbour, Antigua & Barbuda.

February 2014 to February 2014.

http://www.windwardsailing.co.uk/racing/caribbean_600_Incisor The yacht will be moored in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua ready for you to join a couple of days before the start of the race to allow two training days and a day to prepare the yacht for the race. On arrival you will geto know your fellow crew members and spend some time on board familiarising yourself with her equipment and layout. Accommodation can be onboard which is comfortable on the 12 berth Incisor. We will have a meal ashore that evening in a local pub or restaurant such as the Mad Mongoose which is a particular favourite of ours! We'll begin to get to know each other a little better and there is lots of excited and animated discussion of the forthcoming race as we share rum punch together. The next day, after a full safety brief, we will head out of harbour for a full days sailing. This is your opportunitnly to not only enjoy a day on the ocean without the pressure of racing, but most importantly for us to provide lots of training in all aspects of boat handling ready for the race the following day. You will all have the opportunity to helm, trim sails, navigate etc. and the brave among you can even venture onto the foredeck. We will return to harbour for another evening ashore and a chance to discuss the days exploits. The next day we will once again leave harbour for a short day sailing to consolidate the experiences of the previous day training. At this time we will begin to get an idea of crew roles and continue to improve our sailing. There is usually a fantastic party on this night held at the Antigua Yacht Club. The final day will be spent in port where we will complete the final preparations for the 600 mile Offshore Race. Race Day. The race should take 3 days depending on weather conditions and we will soon settle into a watch system. As the course involves many Island roundings the crew will have little time to get bored and the navigators task will be an exciting test. We will arrive back into Falmouth Harbour to wonderful celebrations and parties and enjoy the feeling of completing a tough but enjoyable offshore race!
