[ active ] St Maarten – Bermuda – Azores – Portugal Netherlands Antilles to Portugal ref 15627
From Not sure, Netherlands Antilles to Lagos, Portugal.
May 2026 to June 2026.
I'm currently planning to purchase a Leopard 44 in the Florida or Caribbean area by the end of 2025. The vessel will be fully equipped for bluewater cruising, including solar upgrades, lithium batteries, watermaker. As I continue to work as a First Officer on a rotational schedule (2 months on / 2 months off), I will likely be on duty during the ARC Europe rally in May 2026. Therefore, I'm exploring options for a capable and enthusiastic crew who might be interested in sailing my Leopard 44 across the Atlantic as part of ARC Europe. My idea is to join the boat in the Azores together with my partner, then continue cruising in Europe through summer 2026.
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Captain
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 2): Watch-leader
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 3): does not matter

Crew roles: For the ARC Europe 2026 Atlantic crossing, I’m looking for experienced sailors or a capable couple/team who: - Have prior offshore or ocean passage experience - Are comfortable handling a 44ft catamaran under sail and engine - Can navigate, manage watch schedules, and troubleshoot common onboard systems (autopilot, sails, power management, etc.) - Ideally have some knowledge of multihulls, though not essential - Are responsible, safety-conscious, and self-sufficient This isn’t a delivery for a paycheck — I’m looking for someone who shares the passion for sailing, and can be trusted with my boat on a long ocean passage while I’m on duty. You’ll be fully briefed on the vessel systems beforehand, and I’ll ensure the boat is ready for offshore cruising before handover. I’d love to connect early and see if there’s a good fit — if we’re aligned, we can start planning and perhaps even do a shake-down trip beforehand.
