[ active ] Hiva Oa to Bora Bora French Polynesia to French Polynesia ref 15310

Joerg Esdorn wants 2 crew for Kincsem , Amel 55, m.

From Hiva Oa, French Polynesia to Bora Bora, French Polynesia.

March 2025 to May 2025.

I am looking for one or two persons to join the Kincsem team for this leg. The plan is to be cruising first the Marquesas Islands, then visit 4 of the Tuamotus, then sail to Moorea and Bora Bora. This is a free sailing leg of the WARC so there will be no racing. We will undoubtedly meet other WARC boats on the leg but boats are likely to spread out. Kincsem is an Amel 55 from 2016 and I have owned the boat since new. The boat is very well equipped and maintained and by the time we get to the Marquesas, I will have sailed her well close to 35,000 nautical miles. She has all new upwind sails, 3 downwind sails, Starlink, full Furuno and B&G electronics and a forward looking sonar.

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 2): does not matter

Sailing with a Rally: Independent

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : shared cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: non-smokers only

Total people on board: 4-5

Crew roles: I have one Brit signed up for this leg and a second may join as well. I'm looking for one to two crew with good experience and the ability to go single person watches at night on the few (6 or so) overnight passages we will have on this leg. I am a racing sailor by heart and like to sail the boat actively so I'm looking for good sailors. Everyone is expected to work on the boat and keep everything in good order and shipshape. Having said that, I like to have fun and this leg of the WARC certainly presents a lot of opportunity for fun! I will ask for a daily contribution of $17 per person. In addition, all crew (including me) will share equally the expenses of alcohol consumed. However, there will be no alcohol at sea other than one small beer for happy hour.

Money: daily contribution from crew $17

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
