AZORES EXPLORATION / ATLANTIC CROSSING / AND MORE (+ possible remote working aboard) It’s time for the next leg of our journey - and we have room aboard for more great people! It's possible to join for some or all of this leg Next up is exploring the Azores, then possible stops in Lisbon, Madeira/Porto Santo, the Canaries, Cape Verde, Fernando de Noronha (Brazil), French Guiana, Suriname and Guyana before reaching the Caribbean (we might skip some!) So far this year, we’ve travelled from Lisbon, to the Savage Islands, through the Canaries, Cape Verde, across to the Caribbean and back across to the Azores where the boat is now, all with great discussions, music and adventures. As lovers of both the ocean and science, we’re also looking to run, participate and collaborate on ocean citizen science projects as the boat moves around the world. For those that work remotely, during some parts of the trip it may be possible to continue doing that remote work aboard in some capacity (via Starlink) - let’s discuss if that applies to you OTHER STUFF THAT HAPPENS ABOARD Every so often, we host special sailing weeks: invite carefully selected people who are world class in their respective fields but also kind/respectful/fun, pull them away from their busy day-to-day a week of discussion/relaxation/exploration/food (The selection process for guests for these weeks involves a committee made up of previous participants). Everyone gets a dedicated hour of time during the week to lead the discussion - participants normally use that to help solve whatever the biggest issue is in life, whether personal, career, business or otherwise - and then have a bunch of diverse wise-heads talk through it with them - getting to that level of depth really seems to develop a strong bond, and often the discussions continue ad hoc later through the week, while lazing on trampoline out front of the cat or during dinner THE SKIPPER From New Zealand, a former corporate lawyer and now founder of a fully-remote travel gear company. Loves sailing, surfing, being underwater, gathering food from the wilderness, onboard karaoke, comedy and travel. He speaks passable English and tiny amounts of Portuguese, Spanish, Māori and Japanese THE BOAT She’s a Lagoon 380 S2, with four double cabins, over 1000W of solar, Lithium battery, watermaker, 2400W inverter to run 230V appliances including a cooker, Iridium Go! and Starlink units for emergency communication. Skipper's taken her from Sicily to Tunisia, the Algarve, Canary Islands, Madeira, Lisbon, the Azores, the Caribbean and across the Atlantic twice over the last 5+ years
