Eight Clipper 60’s were built for the first edition of the Clipper Round the World Race. They circumnavigated with Clipper four times and were subsequently used for training until they were sold off. Hummingbird, ex Blackadder, circumnavigated only three times with the race and was purchased by Rubicon in 2013. Starling, ex Serica, bought by Rubicon 3 in 2017, from BlueBox Sailing. Bluejay ex Mermerus is the latest edition to the fleet, being bought in 2018 again from Bluebox Sailing, she also circumnavigated four times. The Clipper 60 is a superb ocean sailing boat. Based on the Camper and Nicholson Bluewater 58 she is designed to withstand the rigors of the open ocean. Both the hull and the rig are solidly built and have a proven track record of reliability and durability.
