[ closed ] Sailing EAST from Fiji Fiji to French Polynesia ref 14896
Sonja Novotny wants 2 crew for Ventura, Privilege, m.
From Savusavu, Fiji to Tahiti, French Polynesia.
June 2024 to .
I typically solo sail my 42ft Privilege catamaran in Fiji. With the next gentle weather window, we plan to begin island hopping toward the US. For now I’m happy with any eastbound miles and in the meantime there’s plenty of gorgeous places in Fiji to explore and there’s always boat projects to advance. Along the way we will pause to explore other islands while we wait on the next weather windows for continuing the passage. I prefer having a good time over making good time, overall. Preferably we will sail from Fiji to Wallis, Samoa, OR Tonga, Niue, Cooks, then FP. Eventually Hawaii to the CA coast. Open to any route that takes it easy on the boat and her crew. The boat is well maintained and the engines and electrical systems were recently professionally serviced, fresh bottom paint too. I just bought a new house bank of batteries, new trampoline nets, that list goes on and on. I stay on top of all the maintenance and have been here long enough to have a team of skilled trades people and good cruising friends I can call on.
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): does not matter
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 2): does not matter
Sailing with a Rally: None
I'm looking for (gender): either
Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk
Smoking on board: non-smokers only
Total people on board: 4
Crew roles: Prefer a couple or pair of friends to share a cabin. Ideally I’m looking for a smart balance between hard and soft skills. The best possible scenario is a couple or pair of friends where some are great at mechanical/electrical problem solving and others are great at painting, splicing lines, organizing, cooking or cleaning. The couple or friends will share their own cabin with an en-suite head. Everyone pitches in to keep the boat in top notch condition. Previous bluewater sailing experience in this part of the world is incredibly helpful.
Money: expenses shared equally
Travel to and from boat: crew pays
