[ closed ] Atlantic West to East Martinique to Portugal ref 14768
Markus Renlund wants 2 crew for Another Brick, First 44.7, m.
From Fort-de-France, Martinique to Lagos, Portugal.
April 2024 to May 2024.
We will be leaving Martinique April 25th heading to Portugal via the Azores. We're on a 45 foot performance cruiser and will be sailing fast but safety first with a crew of 6. We aim to have a fun and pleasurable journy, but as part of the safety principle, we will have a next to zero tolerance for alcohol at sea. Comimg to Horta, we can all make up for that at Peter Cafe Sport or other watering holes :) This will be our and Another Bricks 8th Atlantic crossing, so we do think we're quite well on top of things. The skipper is of course also fully certified. After a bit less than three weeks, we'll arrive in Horta, Faial on the Azores, and after spendong about a week there, we'll continue towards Lagos, Portugal, probably visiting some of the other islands on the way. We promise you an unforgettable journey, dolphins and whale spotting from time to time, as well as the inevitable Portuguese Men of War. Youll learn ocean sailing and how to thread the delicate path between the Azores high and the North Atlantic lows for a pleasant crossing. We love to have easy going social people on board, as the space on board a 45 foot yacht is limited. The aim is to have a good time and safe crossing. We will have a dedicated chef on board, so you will be sailing with full service, except for maybe som dish washing. Unfortunately, we are unable to serve vegetarians or vegans on board. Smoking is allowed on deck.

Crew roles: You don't have to be a world class sailor, but you have to have some boating experience and know how to behave at sea, as well as your susceptibility for seasickness and viable remedies. You will be required to stand watch, probably 3h on 6h off, but all sailchanges etc will be handled jointly. While standing watch and you suspect you need help, or maybe only a second opinion, there is an alarm buttun that you can press to get the skipper on deck. Actually, pressing the alarm button is very much appreciated if you have any doubts whatsoever.
