[ closed ] northbound from Carib Saint Martin to United States ref 13145
Ludwig Hoogstoel wants 2 crew for Ataraxia, 2006 Etap 46ds, m.
From Fort Louis, Saint Martin to New York City, United States.
January 2022 to .
Ataraxia joins the ARC January and will arrive in Saint Lucia late January 2022. Her 2022 summer season is scheduled to be spent on Long Island Sound. Anita and Ludwig will sail Ataraxia from Saint Lucia northbound from February till April/May, but at that point crew will be required to bring her to Nassau Bahamas and from Nassau Bahamas to the New York area. The last leg is scheduled for the ocean (Ataraxia is NOT an ICW boat due to her draught and air clearance), but weather can of course decide to make a stop along the Eastern Seaboard. Because of the layout of the boat, we are looking for a couple to join us on this trip. ("Couple" to be defined as 2 people who can share the same forward cabin). Sailing experience is required but ocean experience is not necessary. The idea is to have 4 people on the boat, 2 of whom will have ocean experience. Interested individuals need to be vaccinated (and be allowed to enter the USA, which from November onwards will include Canadians and Europeans). You can read more about the owners on this site and see pictures of the boat on instagram under the open account "sail_ataraxia". Flexibility is important as this trip will span approximately up to 2 months (from somewhere late April to late June) due to the intended stops. Timings as required by this website are approximate.
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 2): does not matter
Sailing with a Rally: Independent
I'm looking for (gender): either
Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk
Smoking on board: smoking allowed
Total people on board: 4
Crew roles: "Respectful" "calm" "integrity" and similar key words are more important than sailing qualifications. Like our other trips, our intention is to have a 'positive experience'. Ataraxia is run on a 'safety first' basis. We are for now essentially looking for a couple, who can share the forward cabin but can independently stand watch. The captain is also an ASA instructor and crew for whom the ocean/night sailing will be a first, can expect a surrounding where they can feel comfortable.
Money: captain pays all expenses
Travel to and from boat: crew pays
