This cruise is a good mix of sailing and Intercoastal Waterway cruising. We will depart from the Gulfport Municipal Marina and head out under the Pinellas Bayway bridge hailing the opening of the Tierra Verde Structure E Bridge. Off in the distance is the Misner bridge which we will navigate under and motor into Tampa Bay where we will raise the sails turning Southwest with the Sunshine Skyway Bridge off in the distance. Passing under the beautiful bridge we will see Egmont Key to the West….our anchorage for night one. Day two depending on the weather and mood of the group we will either explore Egmont Key or move on to Anna Maria Island on our way to Sarasota. Once we get to Sarasota we will find an anchorage or pick up a mooring ball based on availability. On our return to Gulfport, we will either exit to the Gulf at Longboat Pass sailing North to Egmont Key or continue on the ICW if the weather dictates. One thing life on the boat has taught us is the weather is in control! You will learn everything we know about full-time life on the boat. You will gain knowledge about diesel engines, composting toilets, marine navigation equipment, upkeep, maintenance, and more. We will answer any questions you have and give you as many experiences as the days allow. The lifestyle experience cruise should provide you with many day-to-day routines, challenges, joys and everything in between that come with full-time life on a boat.
