From Sault Ste Marie, Canada to Sault Ste Marie, Canada.
to .
This opportunity is comprised of a 'race week' comprised of 5 different races over the course of the week. For details see : https://www.lcyc.ca/index.php/north-channel-race-week I am anticipating that my crew will be able to serve for the entire week and to also assist in bringing the boat back to port : a two or three day cruise.
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): does not matter
Sailing with a Rally: Independent
I'm looking for (gender): either
Cabins/Sleeping : shared cabin-own bunk
Smoking on board: non-smokers only
Total people on board: 2 or 3
Crew roles: The captain is looking for people who do not necessarily have a lot of experience or training, but who are open to such. The captain expects the crew to be in good shape and capable of the grueling conditions which will encountered during this sailing opportunity. The plan is to engage the crew in a short 'shakedown' cruise before the race in order for everyone to become familiar with the boat (which the captain has owned and sailed for 4 years) and to become used to working together. Expected that crew will be able to exercise a sense of humour even in trying circumstances. This race will at times test everyone : the North Channel can be subject to some pretty challenging conditions. Six dinners are prepared by various organizations, for costs see : https://www.lcyc.ca/images/NCRW/2019_NCRW/2019regform.pdf Other meals will be taken aboard the vessel and it is expected that crew will share costs of purchased groceries : expected to be well under $10/day, possibly no more than $5 /day depending on cost of groceries.
Money: expenses shared equally $10
Travel to and from boat: crew pays
