I'm a USCG 100 ton Master Captain with 71,000+nm logged over 1400+ days on a wide variety of sailing vessels. I've taught for US Sailing and ASA in the Caribbean and United States and enjoy working with adults and teenagers alike. My company, CetoSea Inc, facilitates ocean conservation- and sustainability-themed charters and passages around the world while also assisting owners with yacht management, deliveries, instruction, brokering, and consulting. Pennsylvania is home (technically), but most months I can be found somewhere in the Caribbean or offshore (my real home). I've been known to make a wicked hot meal in the worst of conditions, enjoy playing guitar, traveling, scuba diving, hiking, biking, reading & writing, nerding over the weather, and all watersports. Coaching new owners or green crew is a real passion of mine, and I love being able to help build people's confidence and competence in safe ocean sailing. I'm a superstitious sailor, and won't leave on a Friday or touch bananas onboard. Having worked as a sailmaker, rigger, technician, mechanic, and worn many other hats in the marine industry I bring a variety of knowledge aboard, mostly from practical experience. Focusing on sail trim and sailing efficiently is my passion, and it's fun to see folks pickup a few tips from our passages too. I'm still learning myself (always), and I find great joy in meeting new people & cultures, and hearing new stories. | |
