I was a junior navigating officer in the British Merchant Navy for a couple of years when younger, and have now retired from a senior position in the UK public sector, and moved to SW France and SE Spain. I sail regulatly. I am a RYA Day Skipper with ICC and looking to work towards Yachtmaster offshore later this year. I raced dingies when younger and still do so, and can sail and navigate well and am competent using electronic nav aids and charts. I have crossed the Atlantic twice under sail, once west to east, and once east to west. I am an easy going but hard working guy, who adores ocean life. English is my first language, but I speak well in French, and am currently learning Spanish. | |
