I am an experienced sailor, International Mountain Leader, adventurer, photographer and public speaker. I grew up sailing both yachts and dinghies in Plymouth, SW England. Since then I have sailed both long-distance and cruising in the Mediterranean and on the south coast of Britain. I have crossed the Channel and other open waterways numerous times. With two friends in 2008, I won the first Land Rover/RGS-IBG Bursary and spent seven months circumnavigating the globe along the line of 50° North. In January 2017 I completed the first-ever stand-up paddleboard descent of the Ganges. This 98-day journey was undertaken in a bid to raise awareness of the excessive plastic pollution of the river and oceans and reduce it. I have also led smaller expeditions and tours to over 30 countries, ranging from steppe to jungle, desert to High Arctic.
