Hi! After sailing up from New Zealand, I'm currently in Fiji, looking to join a yacht going west (ideally Australia or New Caledonia). On the long run, I'm looking to reach Mauritius Island. -> I'm happy to pay for travel expenses. A bit about myself: I'm a strong sea enthusiast and ever since childhood I've always been captivated by this massive amount of spirited water. I started with small boats with my dad (Dart18 cat and RS500 dinghy) to learn the ropes and also did a bit of cruising around my home region, Brittany. Then I fell for surfing and kitesurfing during my studies (I studied naval architecture and material science) and most of my freetime went into them rather that boat time. Hence I didn't spent as much time as wanted on yachts until last year. After travelling New Zealand in 2020, I found a position as a deckhand for a sailing charter during the 36th America's cup and I had the chance to crew on a old ACC80 (NZL68), taking clients out to watch the races. I then kept working on boats, doing odd jobs and deliveries and finally found a boatbuilding position (building a 42-foot full carbon cruising cat). I then crewed on a 45' yacht (a Davidson 45 - NZ design and built) up to Fiji where I am now. Please don't hesitate to contact me or ask questions. I can also provide reference if needed. May the weather be with you. Simon | |
