Recently retired and keen to do ARC in 2022. I have been sailing, and for number of years windsurfing, for over 40 years. My wife and I have had our own yacht since 1997 and I currently club race and we both cruise on our Dufour 34P. Most of our cruising is along the south and west coast of Ireland and we typically live aboard and cruise for 4 weeks each summer (or what pretends to be summer in Ireland). We have also cruised on our boat from Cork to the UK and France. I have done delivery trips to/from France and Spain and we have chartered boats in Turkey and Australia. I would say that my boat and sail handling skills and my navigation skills are good but I will readily admit that I leave engine work (other than impeller, fan belt or oil filter work) to the experts. Same with any advanced electronics. To compensate for these shortcomings I am a fairly decent cook. I am keen to join a boat doing ARC 2022 with a crew who are easy to get on with and enthusiastic about sailing the boat to its potential.
