Hello, my name is Rory and I’m a fit, healthy and keen sailor. Married for 28 years and have two grown up sons. I have worked for British Airways for 40 years as an inflight manager and have now taken early retirement. British passport holder/ United States C1/D visa. For the last few years, I’ve been inshore racing on a 29’ team at Sussex Yacht Club and cruising from Portsmouth on a live aboard 46’ oyster. Several sailing courses with the Army Offshore Sailing Association. I’ve crewed on a crossing of the Indian ocean. Every year I have captained on family bareboat holidays (2-4 weeks) in Greek waters, British Virgin Islands, Windward Islands, Maldives, and the Isles of Scilly. I am keen to crew ocean crossings. I can start and finish anywhere. In June 2023 I completed an arc Europe rally. (St Maarten-Azores-Portugal.) I can provide references. I work hard and am a good team member. If you need a dependable crew member, please keep me in mind. Qualifications; RYA Day Skipper. RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore Theory. RYA Marine Radio Short Range Certificate. RYA Offshore Safety and Basic Sea Survival. MCA. Medical First Aid Aboard Ship. Aviation First Aid Medicine Trained. Diesel Maintenance course. UPDATE August 2023.
