Retired July 2021. Past Heavy Equipment Diesel Fitter, Marine Engineer, Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager. Travelled a fair bit, worked in China and South America. (un poco Castano) First water taste when 11 years old. Step father built a 19 foot Hartley power boat. My family had the power boats - Haines, Rivera, mates family had the sailing boats - RL24, Blazer (best of both worlds). Mate skippered his 12 foot Thorpe me crew, early years, lots of laughs and fun, "get that spinnaker up". On the team that built Ska 37 foot Crowther Shockwave...wet wet boat but went like a rocket. Coastal racing and yes we did get dis-mastered in one race, 8 hours ahead of the fleet. Boating in North Queensland, Whitsundays, Hinchinbrook and north mainly. Later years work work and more work, but got ahead, little sailing, WAGS sailing Moreton Bay on Rogers 10.5m cat, lots of fun. Live between Townsville Aus and Lima Peru (wife Peruvian). Been checking for suitable sail boats to buy, but not quite ready, something holding me back maybe lack of others to use with currently....I do not smoke, do drink (not over the top), enjoy music, seeing new places / locations enjoy meeting new people new cultures....not sure about the vetting and 4 weeks? at sea with others....I suppose I did it before on KFV Fisheries 90 foot prawn trailer....(but could get off if you really needed to....i didn't, it was a great time), Very much willing to check it out and likely give it a go...thankful for opportunity. | |
