Good afternoon, Nice of you to visit my profile, let me take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. I currently live on the southern Caribbean island of Curacao and work as a Charter boat captain, mainly daycharters to a small uninhabited island approx. 15 miles offshore from the main island of Curacao, usually i skipper a 60 ft sailing catamaran with a max capacity of 60 passengers, have been doing this since 2012 and love this job. I also do the occasional deliveries in between the ABC islands. I own my own cruising sailing yacht which i am currently doing a refit on so it will be ready to cruise the caribbean whenever i am capable of doing a sabbatical year off to go cruising the caribbean (just to show i have plenty of technical skills). I have been sailing ever since a was a young boy growing up in the Netherlands, started of dinghy sailing but moved up to owning my own Catalina 320 sailing yacht which i would pretty much sail singlehanded around the challenging waters of the Netherlands, unfortunately i had to sell this boat as i decided to move to the island of Curacao for a job opportunity as a Station manager for a Dutch Airline (have pretty much been working in aviation industry my whole live (trained as a commercial pilot). Recently i had the opportunity to help a friend sail his Moody 54 Decksaloon from Europe to it’s new home port in Bonaire (Also Dutch Antilles), this was my first Atlantic crossing east -> west and absolutely LOVED it !! So here i am on Crewlink looking for opportunities to make more Ocean going trips as crew or as captain paid / unpaid (obviously i have my prefference since i am saving up for the refit of my own boat and hopefully the sabbatical year off) but anything can be discussed. I hold an IMO Small Commercial Vessel SCV Code Boatmaster grade 1 license did all the STCW training etc etc. In all modesty i would describe my character as a young hearted young spirited no-nonsence kind of guy with a good sense of humor and excellent social skills (respect pretty much everyone and can get along with anyone something you need as a daycharter captain) , fun loving but very responsible and problem solving. I love Kitesurfing / Kiteboarding as well as scubadiving and anything watersport related. I am in a longterm relationship with my lovely girlfriend who is a PGA Golf-professional / manager of a golfcourse on Curacao. You can find me on facebook “Rob Loendersloot” or Instagram “Captainrobcuracao”. Let me know if you have any more questions [email protected]. Krgds, Rob.
