February 22, 2022 Hello! My name is Robert (fully vaccinated and boosted) and I learned to sail as a teen at Community Boating in Boston, MA. I also spent a summer on the Lettie G. Howard (teaching schooner) as a crew member living aboard and sailing around New England on multi-day trips. As an adult I re-engaged with sailing about 7 years ago. Since then, I have sailed my Cape Dory 25D on day trips out of Boston covering mostly the southern part of the Gulf of Maine to the Isle of Shoals and back. In April of 2022 I plan to sail my first single-handed overnight trip from Boston to Boothbay Harbor in Maine. In addition to sailing I am currently conducting a full re-fit of a 1971 Alberg 30. She is getting new bulkheads, decks, and a re-sealed hull-deck joint as well as a new interior and standing rig (working with a rigger on this). I am very handy and have a good understading of marine electric systems, plumbing, and even marine diesel engine. I have been doing my homework over the years. Also, I am seeking more formal cruising and off-shore knowledge via Nautic Ed. I am currently enrolled in two of their navigation courses. My goal as a sailor is to learn how to sail further, safer, and with great joy! Thank you for reading - Robert
