Looking for: Worldwide opportunities
Experience: 4125 ocean miles / 400 coastal miles
I have sailed a Mirror Dinghy for about 45 years. I owned a Grampian 26 for about 6 years, with most of my freshwater sailing in the North Channel of Lake Huron or on the St Mary's River. In 2020 over a period of several months I served as crew on an Oyster 47 and sailed from Majorca to St Lucia via Ibiza, Cartagena, Gibraltar, Lanzarote, Gran Canaría and St Lucia (the latter included the 2020 ARC rally). I have been sailing on one level almost all my life : when I was a youngster I erected a sail (an old canvas tarpaulin) on a homemade raft and tried to do the 'Huck Finn' thing on the Thames River (the one in Ontario) which flowed through the farm where I was raised. Lots of fun! Sailing is the best way of doing nothing in the world!
