I'm Roberson, 55, Brazilian, entrepreneur, and business administrator, currently living in Sao Paulo with Cris, 49, my partner. I run a small chain of apparel and footwear stores that demand most of my time, and Cris is a lawyer and a top cuisine chef. My passion for the sea led me to start sailing in 2010, embarking on a journey of continuous learning and mastery in monohull sailing yachts ranging from 40 to 60 feet. Holding Yacht Master Offshore Certificate (IYT/MCA) and Captain License issued by the Brazilian Navy, I have over 4000NM in ocean crossings in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean Sea and 1000NM in coastal waters in Brazil. Although my expertise spans various aspects of sailing and navigation, including passage planning, sail trim, anchoring, radar, AIS, GPS, chart reading, meteorology, and safety, I humbly admit my knowledge of engines and electricity is still a work in progress and I am always open to learning with more experienced skippers. She is a marathonist, swimmer, and cross fitter, loves the ocean, and is excited about her first sailing passage. We aim to acquire as much expertise as possible in long-distance crossings so we can take 2-3 years to sail worldwide on our own yacht shortly. We have English fluency and conversational in Spanish due to similarities with the Portuguese. Proactiveness, adaptability, and openness with the ability to positively approach demanding situations are also important aspects to be highlighted. Furthermore, we've recently attained certification as open-water scuba divers while spending most of our leisure time engaging in various outdoor sports. If you're looking for experienced, easy-going, and enthusiastic crew members for mid to long-ocean crossings around the globe, feel free to get in touch. My e-mail: [email protected] | |
