I am both an educator and a sailor. Education has provided me my roots while I spent years teaching, counseling, and leading outdoor trips in various education systems across America. Sailing and scuba diving has provided me the wind under my wings (or, rather, sails). I have been on boats since my infancy with my family. Inspired by international sailing and diving trips with them, I later found my into the boating world as a professional. Primarily my professional sailing experience has been in the British Virgin Islands. I worked there in two different roles. Once, as a captain and program director for a summer camp, training staff and teaching teenagers how to sail and scuba dive. Most recently, I worked there are a second mate and stewardess aboard a luxury catamaran. All of these experiences, my upbringing in particular, has shaped me as a handy woman who has a healthy respect and knack for hard work, problem solving, and operating large vessels. | |
