Hi Everyone I am an avid sailor. I prefer to be at sea over being on land. My favorite days sailing are with 18 to 20 knots of wind and moving right along. I like to be heeled over and can even deal with galley cooking in rough seas. Though I know the importance of reefing early. I can go up the mast if needed. In my experience it is always better to prepare something before hand if you know of rough seas approaching. I have worked on boats from the Bering Sea to the Galapagos on the Pacific. I have worked and sailed from the ABC islands up the Atlantic coast to Massachusetts. I have sailed Greece. Just recently I spent 6 months sailing the Australian coast and New Zealand. I am a very diligent watch keeper, can adapt to the circumstances sailing sometimes brings. I am not afraid and have respect for the sailing vessel and her ability. But I also appreciate the sea. I have not done an Atlantic or Pacific crossing yet. But believe my fascination with being at sea and my passion for being under sail makes me a great addition to any crew. I have an uncanny knack for being able to sleep in tight quarters. I get along well with others. If down time on a boat I like to read and play games. I am constantly on the sea and look for any opportunity to go sailing. I have only been on land once in 8 months. I'm always up for an adventure and willing and able to handle most chores and roles on a S/V. I would love the opportunity to join the ARC . I have sailed up and down from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific and many deliveries from the Keys to Maine. I would now like to cross an ocean. I have no problem being at sea and usually fit in quite well. I have raced some and like it as much as just cruising. I don't use much water and can adapt to the rules of the sailing vessel. I do sometimes work on motor vessels, and just returned from being at sea 2 months in Costa Rica and Panama My whatsapp is +1 503-954-4785 I surely hope that there is a boat that needs my help as crew. Look forward to hearing from you all. Will forward CV on request. Thanks for your consideration Rebecca/belle | |
