I am 54 years old, now on sabbatical after having worked in finance and IT. I love sailing the seas with other people. Most of my sea sailing experience is with sailing schools so I am familiar with sailing for a longer period with people I didn't know before we left the harbor. For me this is part of the fun, getting to know new people and perspectives. I have had my own small yacht, a 34ft Beneteau Oceanis, and mainly sailed inshore in the Netherlands (IJsselmeer), so I am also used to be end responsible for ship and crew. My sailing experience is mainly in Europe (UK, Channel Islands, Biscay, France, German Bight, Netherlands) and with sea schools we didn’t shy away for heavier weather so a 7bft nightly North Sea crossing is also on the list. I like to think that I am pretty easy going, responsible, stress resistant and a tendency to look at the bright side of every situation. I also have experience in sailing with kids on board. I have a couple of written testimonies from former skippers for those who are interested.
