Looking for: | Mediterranean & Black Sea; Western Europe & North Atlantic Islands; |
Experience: | 500 ocean miles / 20000 coastal miles |
I am an almost-retired ex-medic and university academic, with over 20 years of experience of sailing my Southerly 135, ‘Kind of Blue’, in northern European waters. She is a 13.5 metre lifting keel, solid sailing boat, in good condition, having undergone a significant recent refit. For those that know Southerly’s she is a deck saloon model, with a linear galley joining the saloon to the aft cabin. She is the last one built with a single rudder (in 2002). I’m now looking to expand sailing horizons, initially to Portugal and then possibly into the Mediterranean. My partner is unfortunately easily seasick, and my other crewing friends don’t have time for longer ocean passages, so I am looking for new crew for these adventures. In the first instance I am booked on the ARC Portugal in June 2023 and I am looking for crew to accompany me (either for the whole rally or for parts of it). There is one double bunk, and potentially two single bunks available. So I would be happy to consider singles, couples, or any combination. Ideally you will have some sailing experience and be able to keep a watch. RYA Competent Crew or Day Skipper or similar experience would be great. Otherwise any age, any gender. | |
