Currently based in: Chester, United Kingdom
Looking for: Worldwide opportunities
Experience: 400 ocean miles / 3000 coastal miles
My name is Penny. I live in Cheshire. I have free time and can come at short notice. Inmy early years I sailed dinghies in Anglesey. Later when married we sailed 40 ft yachts in the Mediterranean for about 6 years. 2 years ago I sailed on a friend's 46ft Beneteau Oceanis. Last year I set myself a target to sail the Atlantic but I would also be interested in other long distance sailing opportunities. I have a bright personality, a pleasant positive outlook on life. I get on with most people. I am not confrontational. I have a Competent Crew certificate. I can turn my hand to any/most chores. I don’t get seasick. I enjoy cooking which I can do even in rolly seas. Recently I have been lucky to meet Nick Pochin who has taken me on as crew. Starting in Lagos Portugal and finishing in Travemunde in Germany I have sailed all the way - some 1500 miles on his Disvovery 55 ‘Festina Lente’. I have learnt a great deal from the trip and from a well known and 3 times round the world yachtsman..... I am a lucky girl... Age is not on my side.......I am 70....... but I am fit and healthy and nimble round a boat...........!!
