| Hi, my name is Marcos. I am from Santander (North of Spain) where I sail since I was a child. My first experience sailing offshore was in 2002 when I participated in the Cutty Sark Tall Ships´ Races aboard the "Bon Temps", a wooden ketch 13 meters in length which is one of the oldest recreational sailing boat in Spain. The itinerary was Santander- Brest- La Coruña- Santander. On the journey from Santander to Brest I sailed for the first time with heavy weather conditions. Another great experience sailing offshore was at the beginning of 2015 when I crossed the Atlantic Ocean aboard "SeaBelow" (Victoire 933). I met her captain (Jan Prahm) thanks to "Oceancrew" and we sailed for two weeks in October 2014, from Camariñas (close to Vigo) to Porto. After the Christmas 2015 I flighted to Las Palmas to join him and start the Atlantic crossing. The itinerary was Las Palmas- Mindelo- Sta.Lucia. We were three people on board, Jan, Søren (a danish guy who joined us in Las Palmas) and me. After the crossing we sailed in the Caribbean for two weeks more. I was aboard SeaBelow for two months in total. After the crossing I finished my sailing studies and I got my captain license in October 2015 and my professional accreditaccion (PPER) in November 2016. The last trip I made was aboard Saga (Hanse 540), from Hamble (UK) to Las Palmas (Spain) in November 2017, the route was Hamble-La Coruña-Lisbon-Las Palmas. I also met his owner Jon Stretton (Sailing GB) and his captain Paul thanks to "Ocean Crew". Finally I would like to add that I am a quite person, serious, endeavored, responsible, and sociable. I love sail, nature, sports, music and reading. I speak spanish and english fluently and I do not smoke. Thanks and best regards. | |
