I have been at sea all my life going into the merchant navy from school. I owned a Westerly Centaur on the west coast of Scotland, I have a 20' wooden double ended Caledonia Yawl which I sail all over Scotland. I was a round the world crew member on the Clipper 15/16 round the world yacht race on the GREAT Britain yacht which came in 3rd overall. I was a watch leader, bosun and lead engineer on the race. We also competed in the 2015 Sydney to Hobart race coming second in class. In 2019 I took part in the St Kilda Challenge on a Beneteau First 40.7 I spent all of the 2021 winter lockdown in Madeira helping with the complete overhaul of a classic 1972 Swan 55 after which we sailed her round the Canaries, back up to Portugal then over to the Azores and on up to the UK mostly double handed. I am a competent cook and will tackle any maintenance job on a boat. | |
