Sailing has been my life long passion ever since my Grandfather taught me how to sail on a 35 foot fishing schooner in Nova Scotia. Life long Laser sailor, Canadian National Champion 1996 and was on the Canadian Sailing Team in the early nineties in the Laser class. I've race over 10 World championships in Standard Laser, Melges 24, Melges 32 and finished 6th in the Laser Master worlds in Puerta Vallarta. Last winter, I coached high performance Laser racing with the prestigious international sailing academy in Puerta Vallarta. I've done 4 ocean deliveries including a 12 day passage from Norlfok VA to the US Virgin Islands just after Hurricane Sandy. Massive 30 foot ocean swell and 55 kt squalls. They put me in charge of steering the boat so that we wouldn't catch waves! It was a fantastic experience and I'd like to do more bluewater passages and cruising. Other skills are rigging/splicing and composite construction using high density foam and carbon/epoxy vacuum bag layups. In the summer, I live in Lake Tahoe where I race and charter my Hobie 33 but I'm open to summer opportunities as well. I'm really easy to get along with. No big ego. Always something to learn and share is my philosophy. I'm not a smoker. I'd love to do an upcoming ARC event and make my way to the Caribbean for the winter regatta circuit. I could be your winning helmsman or tactician or crew. Put my racing skills to work for you! Cheers! - Nick Pullen
