Hi I'm looking to crew on in the ARC – Atlantic Rally for Cruisers 2019 -Preferably with a performance team but beggars can't be choosers ;) Sailing Experience: -I'm a 29 year old from Hamilton, Ontario (Just outside Toronto) and I have sailed every summer of my life. -I'm currently club racing my J24 "Slippery when wet" (2017 club champions) but I have also owned a C&C 26, and CL 14 Dinghy. -I was a Canadian Yachting Association coach throughout university in Albacores, 420s and Optimists. -I also have ASA 101, 103 and 104 certifications. -My team from McMaster University came 2nd in the University Keel boat Championships in Halifax (J22) -No extended off shore experience but I'm willing to learn! Outside of Sailing: -I have a degree in Mechatronics Engineering and Management (Mechatronics = Mechanical + Electrical + Software, Management = Business) -Very hands on, could be helpful off shore, with debugging and maintenance -I'm the CEO and founder of Nix Sensor Ltd. we build high resolution, low cost color sensor hardware for a variety of industries. (North Sails uses some of our devices for spinnaker colors, and AkzoNobel uses our devices for matching of residential paints for example) -I have a passion for trying new things, inventing, and exploring -Non smoker, no dietary restrictions, easy going, always eager to help out -I know how the chain of command works on a trip like this, I have no problems taking orders or taking a leadership position. If you're interesting in learning more about me please don't hesitate to reach out!
