| Experienced 62 year old sailor that has a lot of sailing experience, including 2 atlantic crossings. Very laid back approach to life so hopefully easy to get on with. Happy to muck in with chores including cooking, cleaning and general boat maintenance. I'm now sailing the ARC in 2023 and am looking for this adventure. I’m fit and healthy and don’t take any medications. I may well be free from Jan/Feb 2024. I started sailing on a friend's yacht in my early 20's and very quickly got into racing sigma 33's in the solent and also completed many offshore races. At the same time most of my holidays were on flotillas in the mediterranean with my family. The very first boat I owned was in Greece and I sailed for many years in the Mediterranean. I enjoyed going places and would take my boat from Corfu to Crete, Turkey, Croatia, Italy, Spain and I eventually decided to go further afield. Cruising down the coast of Morocco and across to Las Palmas I joined the ARC+ in my own boat (Bavaria390) in 2017 and spent the following year cruising the Caribbean. Crewing on the ARC 2018 on a catamaran "Intune" gave me a taste for Catamarans. Being part of a few delivery trips including the first passage of a Discovery 50 from the UK across a barmy biscay to Tenerife gave me more experience of catamaran sailing. I enjoyed the ARC experience both times and was given the opportunity to Join the ARC Yellowshirt team in 2021 in Gran canaria and St Lucia. My aim is to complete a world circumnavigation but I am between boats at the moment and would like to sail a lot more offshore to gain more experience of different boats. My ambition is to complete the world ARC. I race Sonata's (22 foot keelboat) on the Medway when I am not off gallivanting. Having owned my own boats being very handy and good at fixing most things I’m a good person to have around when things need repairing.
