| Ahoy fellow sailors! My name is Madeleine Lithvall and I’m a 33-year-old Swedish sailor & marketeer. There are three things I am unrestrainedly passionate about; the ocean, the mountains & creativity! All year round I combine my interests with my professional skills as an Art Director, PR & Event Manager. I love meeting new people, as well as sharing adventures & creating memorable experiences. My free time is mostly spent during the spring, summer & autumn running, cycling, climbing, camping & last but definitely not least – sailing. During winter, I spend most of the time in the mountains free skiing, ski touring & cross-country skiing. A big part of my life is about snow & sea, but not everything. A trained creative, lifestyle professional & marketeer – equipped with a rare ability; camera in one hand, pen in the other & practical skills in everything from film making, design & illustration to spot-on brand development and project management. With these tools I create engaging, credible content, as well as strong brand positioning within sailing, skiing, outdoor, lifestyle & travels. Always focusing on the brand & its products. Now, let’s move on to the sailing part… Except for working in the marketing industry for the past decade, I have been sailing my whole life in different ways; with my family as a child and in the sailing scouts as a teenager, followed by various instructor & charter jobs for both kids and adults. In my early 20’s, I started racing and now I’ve done 6 seasons in match racing & sprint racing (top placing no 7 on the world women’s match race ranking). I’ve done several offshore and coastal races around the Baltic sea on national and international level and one international Tall Ship’s Race 2013 with the Norwegian vessel Stadstaad Lemkuhl which we also won. And apart from racing nowadays, I also love to just go out cruising and enjoy being at sea. Territories apart from the Baltic Sea I’ve been cruising around are in the Mediterranean Sea & outside the Australian and American coasts. Responsibility, problem-solving, calmness under pressure and a strong emphasis on safety; those are my keywords when I’m out at sea. All while having a great time of course! Having over 20 000 miles in my logbook & completed multiple +100-mile-passages in demanding conditions, including the Atlantic, I know what it takes to prepare and fulfil a safe, high-quality, memorable voyage. Having completed my RYA Commercially Endorsed Yachtmaster Offshore, I now look for opportunities where I can combine my skills & experiences in sailing, yachting and marketing. I know it’s a lot, but it does give me, not only a unique combination of skills, but also many opportunities to contribute with extensive knowledge and resources ranging across multiple disciplines.
