Laura De Rose, female, 51

Ref 49394

Nationality: Italy
Currently based in: Cape Town, South Africa
Looking for: Worldwide opportunities
Experience: 15960 ocean miles / 2065 coastal miles
I’m passionate about the ocean and sailed over 18,000 nautical miles as crew (mix of deckhand, cook, stew). The voyages have been a combination of island cruising (Caribbean, US Virgin Islands, BVI’s, French Polynesia and Indonesia) and ocean crossings (Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans). With a Master’s Degree in Building Science and 20 years experience as a Consultant Project Manager in the Construction Industry, I’ve recently upskilled for yachting (with a culinary certificate, day skipper’s ticket, VHF Radio and Power Boating Level 2, amongst others). My experience acquired during my sea voyages, in conjunction with skills developed in my career: working on projects in 8 countries, means I can add great value to any crew team. I'm mature, hard working and speak four languages. I enjoy outdoor activities (swimming, scuba diving, snorkelling, horse riding, rock climbing, cycling, hiking and trekking). I’ve completed 3 sprint triathlons in the past and enjoy dancing, yoga, meditating and reading. I find great fulfilment in creating beautiful things, from culinary dishes to sewing projects and creative crafts. I delight in traveling, exploring new places and meeting new people from different cultures. I find it very easy to talk to strangers and make friends.
