I am a recently retired diplomat from the U.S. While in the Foreign Service for 20+ years, I served all around the world either managing our embassies or handling the press relations of the Ambassador. My wife and three children have been with me for most of those assignments. Other jobs I have held have been in construction, catering, bar tending, life-guarding, teaching, and business management. I was born in the State of Washington and I started sailing in my teens and taught dinghy sailing during a number of summers as well as crewing at local races in Puget Sound. I had not done much sailing since going to college and working, but in 2018 during a government shut-down, I got my ASA bareboat certification and have been looking for ways to get back on the water more often. I can cook, have no health problems, and can make a darn good Margarita. I am also a certified scuba diver, though I do not have my own equipment. | |
