I'm a 33 year old women looking to crew onboard a vessel sometime from September 2020 onwards. I hold an RYA Day Skipper obtained in 2010 in the UK, with around 5,000 sailing miles under my belt, most of which I obtained pre 2015 in Greece and USA. I have done 3 weeks sailing since 2015, including 2019 and 2020 in Greece and Sweden so I am looking to refresh my skills and gain more experience on a crew. I'm a willing learner rather than an expert but do have sailing experience and qualifications under my belt already. I have worked a summer season in Greece working for Sunsail 2008 as a Base Hostess, helping to look after a fleet of yachts and prepare them for clients. In 2009 I worked for Sunsail as a Flotilla Hostess onboard a Flotilla Support Boat in Greece for 9 months. In 2010 I then obtained my Day Skippers Qualification. In 2014 I lived aboard a Tall-ship crewing it for 9 months, sailing around the East Coast of the USA from Florida to New York (we stopped a lot) working for Caravan Stage Company on the worlds only Tall Ship Theatre. I also was the ships cooks assistant on this trip and assisting with the shopping and cooking for many meals for the 19+ crew members. I also spent 9 months living aboard a Cruise Ship doing a round the world cruise. I was working a Deputy Production Manager for their onboard Theatre. I was working as a freelance Production Manager and Lighting Designer for live events and theatre, touring all over the world working on shows. This industry has been totally decimated by Cvoid19 so I thought now would be good time to get back involved with sailing. I'm looking to build my experience and miles with a view to taking a Yacht Masters in 2021. I'm pretty laid back and easy going, I enjoy reading and listening to music, and I'm keen on fishing! I also hold a BSAC open water diving certification. I'm adventurous and have travelled all over the world with work. I'm pretty handy when it comes to fixing electrical things. I'm really like to sailing in the Polynesia Islands, NZ, Australia, Hawaii, South Africa, South America, Fiji, South East Asia, but I'm open to suggestion. So far in the best part of 4 years living on various boats I have never been seasick! | |
