Competent and experienced sailor (non-smoking) who gets along very well with others. My wife and I currently own a Beneteau Oceanis 350 and we sail throughout the summers in the Great Lakes of Canada. Current Commodore of the Collingwood Yacht Club in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. Completed the ARC 2018 from Las Palmas, Grand Canaria Spain to Rodney Bay, St. Lucia in 18d 4h 30m (2,978NM). Have held a valid Pleasure Craft Operators Card with Transport Canada since 2002, completed my Introduction to Keel Boat Sailing certification at the National Yacht Club in 2009, obtained my VHF Restricted Operator’s Certificate (Maritime) with DSC endorsement in 2017, completed Marine Basic First Aid CPR/AED Level C in 2018, completed Marine Diesel Engines: Maintenance and Troubleshooting Course with Nigel Calder at the Toronto Boat Show in 2019, and completed the US Sailing "Offshore Safety At Sea Course" in 2020. My past racing positions sailing with a number of experienced skippers are primarily running the winches and sheet trimming (jib and/or main) in the pit and contributing as tactician, navigator, and tactics depending on the size of the crew. In past years, I have had the pleasure of racing on the following teams to win 1st place Georgian Bay Regatta in 2015, 2016, 2017, & 2018 (non-flying white sail), 2nd Georgian Bay Regatta in 2019 and 1st Overall Winner of the 35th Annual Georgian Bay Regatta in 2021 (both flying asymmetrical spinnaker), 1st Georgian Bay Cup 2019 and 3rd Georgian Bay Cup 2021 (both flying asymmetrical spinnaker), 1st Meaburywood Challenge 2019 (flying asymmetrical spinnaker). In recent years for recreation, I have crewed from Columbia to San Blas Islands to Panama, individually in Costa Rica, Barbados, Aruba, Portugal, Tahiti, and sailing back and forth in St. Lucia and Martinique. In early 2020 I bareboat chartered a new Beneteau 41.1 in the British Virgin Islands (BVI's) and as a skipper sailed to a number of popular islands. | |
